Halloween 2008

Weather was perfect for some neighborhood pictures, Trick or treating and a little party at Chez Houston.

The 3rd annual neighborhood picture took place at the fountain across the street. Gray team, team Fisher, McCurry, Stouse House, Houstons, Kotars and many others made just in time for our version of Paparazzi practice.

After the pictures, Reece, Taylor, River and Evy Kate went trick or treating down at Prairie Village shops. This year Reece was fully aware of what to do and quickly learned how to get the candy. The place was packed with all sorts of scary kids including was as President Obama. That scared the hell out of me!

Once safely back at Chez Houston we started a fire in front of the house, roasted home made marshmallows (yep and they are yummie!!) passed out candy, adult beverages, good food and friends.

Reece walks down the street now and wants to trick or treat. Smart kid!

Why I don't lose weight

There are many forms of entertainment and ways to appease the senses; food would be my favorite.

Anyone that is interested in teasing the taste buds with a slice and a grinder should visit: Grinders at 417 E 18th St Kansas City, MO 64108 (816) 472-5454

Besides their yummy meat ball grinder their pizza is thin and nicely sauced, cooked to a cracker crisp-foldable-taste bud popping goodness.

Their selection of adult beverages perfectly match the food and live entertainment outside.

Next time you are in the area, check it out. Leave the diet at home!

40 minutes of pain

First Cyclocross race was this weekend at So Kor park in Lenexa. The turn out was huge! I place 19th out 60 riders, not bad for the first race and being overweight.

Reece, Taylor and Pop

Took the boys out fer a ride this week. Got the old Bob trailer out and made myself a little train with the Kona single speed bike. Stuck to the side roads and some sidewalks to navigate around the busy streets. People loved it! They were cracking up at the sight of us riding like that. Next will be Christy and I on the tandem with the boys in tow!

Reece found drinking out of the Camel Back a nice option to the sippy cup!

BBQ on Labor day

The neighbors get to gather for a small bbq on Labor day, pulled pork, chicken wings, sweet potato caserole and many other fine foods.

The kids played in the bouncy house and the bouncy slide:

Trip to the Lake of the Ozarks

Reece, Taylor, The Wife, Dawgs and I took a end of summer/Christy going to back to work trip to the lake this weekend.

Early Saturday morning:

Later that day I went for a run at Ha Ha Tanka state park, 250 stairs! Ouch!

Then Reece enjoyed a private boat ride with dad and then again after dinner with Todd and Mom.

Taylor and Reece are enjoying their days at Mom and Dads.

In Two weeks the babe and I will celebrate our 5th anniversary! Wow, that flew by.
